The Pumpkin People Festival
Visit Kentville in October to experience the magic of the Pumpkin People.  You will find more than 300 quirky pumpkin heads around town awaiting your arrival. You never know what kind of silly antics you’ll see these gourd-headed guys getting up to!

Howard Dill is famous worldwide for starting to grow giant pumpkins. He has created the Dill's Atlantic Giant breed of pumpkins which have broken many records for heaviest pumpkin.

The Pumpkin People Festival is an amazing display of straw people with pumpkin heads that decorate the streets of Kentville before Halloween. This fall festival is free of charge and draws lots of visitors to the area. The Town of Kentville website has more information including a map of the pumpkin people displays. There are many other activities listed on their site so please explore and make a nice road trip out of it.

The Pumpkin People really "dig" dinosaurs.  So the 2021 theme is "Dino Discovery" and the Pumpkin People will be traveling way back in time to explore the land and live amongst the dinos!  We have it on "gourd authority" that Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus, and T-rex are all stopping by.

We're keeping some of our other anticipated visitors a secret for now.  Stay tuned and make sure you visit Kentville in October to see all 300 pumpkin heads for yourself!

Pumpkin people fall festival may be combined with a trip to see the Windsor pumpkin parade and pumpkin regatta. Those two events are quite unique in Canada. Kentville, NS is about 30 minutes away from Windsor along highway 101 and only an hour from Halifax to see pumpkin people or check out a new Toyota.

Who knows what kind of crazy antics that you will see these gourd-headed guys getting up to!
